Suffer when it’s time to suffer.
I created this phrase to calm me down whenever I get anxious, stressed, and worried about something.
Because the only time you need to suffer is in the moment of action; not before, not after.
You should suffer only during the action. When you are writing the code, when you are doing the sales call, when you are preparing the document, when you are delivering the presentation, when you are on the treadmill.
It doesn’t make sense to be worrying about it now. You either do it or you don’t think about it. Why would you spend time thinking about it if you won’t do anything about it?
I find this solves overthinking, resistance, and procrastination.
The (imagined) pain usually vanishes once I get started.
